Margaret E. Baker is a highly skilled family Nurse Practitioner focusing on family medicine and pain management at Spinal Diagnostics. She holds nursing licenses for Oregon (NP), Oregon (RN), Washington (ARNP), and Washington (RN).

Having previously worked in neurosurgery, Dr. Baker has a good understanding of the indications for and limitations of spine surgery. She agrees with the neurosurgeon for whom she worked, that: "The best surgery is the surgery that never happened. To this end, she is excited to be working with Drs. Heros and Anderson and the Spinal Diagnostics team to help people explore more effective and less invasive methods of treating their chronic pain."

She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with honors from the University of Portland, where she also obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Before this, Dr. Baker also completed an Associate Degree in Nursing with honors at Indian River Community College in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Her dedication and contributions to nursing have been recognized through numerous awards and honors. She has received:

• Omicron Upsilon Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Practice Scholarship
• Terry Meisner Memorial Fund Research Grant

During her doctoral research, Dr. Baker volunteered in Haiti, serving as the Principal Investigator for the study "Helicobacter pylori Detection and Prevalence in a Rural Haitian Clinic," conducted in collaboration with the Haiti Foundation of Hope and the University of Portland. She has also delivered presentations on Helicobacter pylori at the Haiti Foundation of Hope National Medical Conferences.

This experience deepened her practice as a clinician, sharpened her leadership skills, and gave her a greater appreciation for the resources and technology we have at our disposal here in the United States.

In addition, Dr. Baker has experience in internal medicine and primary care and is pursuing her interest in treating pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence at Spinal Diagnostics. Dr. Baker has extensive experience in pain management and family medicine. She has helped countless patients regain their pain-free life at Spinal Diagnostics.
